I just saw District 9 and thought it was pretty well done. Mike tossed up a good review of the movie here.

I was interested in other stuff the director has done and came across this link which collects ten of his short works (ads, shorts, etc.). They are worth watching. Except the last one. Skip that.

Putting Encyclopedia Brown in his place

I used the read these stories as a kid, I remember liking most of them. But even then, I just had the think... "WTF? Who would know that one esoteric bit of trivia." Apparently the author did, and he liked to hold it over me to make me feel dumb.

Seriously, fuck you, Nick Cage...and not just for Ghost Rider.

I'm going to make this song pertinent to my life.

I listened to this song 56 times yesterday. I have itunes verification. When I frst decided to listen to it again, I had a few reactions:

1) Anger: Why the fuck haven't I listened to this song before now?
2) More Anger: I wish I had been in a relationship in 1995 so I could relate this song to a break-up or some other strong emotional moment.

So, to remedy this I'm going to play this song until something incredible happens.
